Mardi Gras

Welcome Back Fifth Graders!

This week we are excited to highlight our 5th graders’ unforgettable experience at Camp Tamarack Outdoor School this year! This unique French immersive program offers students the chance to deepen their language skills while exploring nature, building friendships, and strengthening bonds as a class. Through shared adventures and team-building activities, students grow in camaraderie, confidence, and community—a true Charlemagne experience that leaves lasting memories!

Bon weekend!

Tour du Monde, June 4

Remember to support our Tour du Monde and help raise funds for a great cause! The money raised will directly benefit our ASB and help pay for grade-level field trips, class supplies, and school-wide events.

100% of the profits will go towards supporting Charlemagne students! Students can turn in their envelopes to their teacher
June 5th through 10th. The class with the most participation gets an extra recess!

If you’ve misplaced your envelope, no worries! Simply email Mme Rachel
(parac_r@4j.lane.edu) to have a new one sent home. You can also use the QR code included to easily gather pledge donations online. Your support makes all the difference – Thank You!

If you are interested in volunteering please check out the options here. Remember, all volunteers need to have attended the volunteer orientation and have completed the 4J Background check!

Field Day

Field Day is the Last Day of School!

To celebrate our last day of school on June 13th, we will be hosting a Field Day for students! Think fun and games for all! Students arrive at normal time and are released at 11:45 AM for summer break. Please consider signing up for a shift on Sign Up Genius. Most shifts are outdoors but there are a few indoor options.https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E44ABA62FA2F4C16-57023905-field#/

Shifts begin on Thursday the 12th after school to help pull equipment and get everything ready for a quick set up on Friday morning.

Friday morning station set up starts at 8:15, a pause to watch the annual Charlemagne send off Tunnel, and then running a game station from 8:45-11:30 with release time for students at 11:45 AM. If you have questions, please reach out to Mme. ErinMarie at langsdorf_e@4j.lane.edu

bike wreck

Please take care when driving around the school

We have had some concerns expressed regarding bike, walk, and scooter interactions with cars.

Please be aware of your surroundings when driving to and from the school and be on the lookout for alternative forms of transportation.
medications

No Medications left behind

If your student has medication at school, it will need to be picked up no later than 3:00pm on Friday, June 13th, 2025, the last day of school.

Prescription and over the counter medications must be picked up by a parent or authorized adult.

EPI-pens and inhalers may be sent home with student only with parent/guardian written permission. If you authorize us to send your students EPI-pen/inhaler with them, please email downes_j@4j.lane.edu.

Any medication left past this date and time will be disposed of. Medications cannot be left at the school over the summer.

Thanks, Nurse Jenny

Handels

Crash the 5th on June 12!

Please join us Thursday June 12, 2025 to celebrate the end of the school year at Handel’s Ice Cream located at the 5th Street Market. Our goal is to “crash the 5th” with as much school wide participation as possible!

Handel’s has agreed to generously donate 25 percent of the proceeds from that day to Charlemagne and we can’t think of a better time to celebrate our students! Please bring the flyer you will receive in Friday Folders, or show the staff the flyer from the PTO newsletter on your smartphone.
