Grade 5 Supplies and Curriculum

2022-2023 Supply List, 5th grade

Hello incoming 5th grade families and students! We are excited for the upcoming school year. We recognize that school supplies come out early in stores and can be sold out at the start of the school year, so we have decided to be the early birds.

For the 2022-2023 school year,  we will not be collecting a school contribution for supplies as we have in years past. Instead, we will give a supply list to fill (see backside). Please keep in mind that students should also maintain a supply of pencils and erasers throughout the year.

Students will be given one planner and will be expected to have it in class daily. There will be a $5.00 replacement contribution (toward printing) if the planner is lost or missing for 5 consecutive days.

Class donations are always welcome. Here are a list of items we can always use:  tissues and loose leaf paper

Items that children should not bring to school:

  • Fidgets (unless this is a formal accommodation)
  • Permanent markers (e.g. sharpies)
  • Toys or electronic games/devices

Item:

  • Math: ¼” graph paper composition book.
  • Heavy duty plastic pocket folder for homework. This will be used daily all year, so quality will matter. Must be plastic, or it will not withstand the use.
  • Wired headsets/earbuds with a built-in microphone for iPad. These will be kept at school in a special pouch. Labeled with the student’s name.  The external microphones tend to break easily.
  • Hand held pencil sharpener with catch basin.
  • Pencil pouch or bag.
  • Highlighters  – 1 yellow, 1 pink, 1 blue, 1 green

If you have needs or concerns, please email topize_g@4j.lane.edu prior to Labor Day.  If you are unable to provide or can’t afford any of the items listed above please check with us (Mme Ginger or Mme McLaren) or the office (Mme Bernadette) and we will do our best to get your student what they need for the school year.
