Dear Families,

IMG_5088

Great news, Charlemagne will be going to the state OBOB competition on April 6th at Chemeketa Community College in Salem! Regionals just finished up Saturday afternoon and the competition was stiff.  The fifth grade Book Scavengers (Nara, Nina, Sabine, Ellie and Ishika) finished in second after a close battle against Buena Vista Spanish Immersion in the finals, 75 to 70.

Next, the top three teams from regionals advance to State with the third place team being Bertha Holt. Go Book Scavengers! Good luck in State next month!

IMG_4340The Charlemagne chess team came in second in the state team competition on Friday, March 8th. It was comprised of Yufei Su, Brandon Young, Sam Farley, Jeremy Wang, Nina Vivek, and Hauke Kiley. They had a strong showing and was seeded second out of forty teams. Way to go, chess team!

We have a busy few weeks for our community before spring break. All day tomorrow March 11th is our monthly Community Night Out at all Falling Sky locations. Please see more info and flyer below.

This week we also launch our Love your Neighbor Food Drive to support Food for Lane County. We are participating with 11 other 4j schools to collect a combined goal of 10,000lbs of food for our community. Please join our efforts by dropping some nonperishable food items in the bins around campus. Together, our efforts can have a great impact on addressing a crucial community need.
