Congratulations to Sean O’Neil, our student worker from South Eugene High School, who led the boys basketball team to a 3rd place state finish.

PTO meeting this Thursday, last week of school before Spring Break

Dear Families,

pto meetingIt’s hard to believe that Spring Break is almost here. We hope everyone is looking forward to a little down time and then ready to finish out the year refreshed and ready to hit the ground running as there is still lots to be learned.

One great way to learn a little something new, is to start thinking about a project for the Science Fair. This year’s fair will be held April 23, right after school. It’s so fun to see what ideas are generated, explored and tested. See the information flyer for great ideas, or come up with one of your own.

There are lots of afterschool clubs starting after spring break, like Yoga, Tennis, Golf, Math clubs and Enrichment Programs. Please see flyers for more information.

Lastly, please join us on Thursday, March 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the library for our monthly PTO meeting. Free childcare will be provided in the cafeteria. Come and hear updates from Principal Eric Anderson or other committees about what is happening at school and how you can get involved if you choose.

Thank you everyone and have a great week!

Each entrant will receive a certificate and they can be interviewed about their project if they wish.

Does buttered toast always land buttered side down? Can a sunken boat be lifted to the surface with ping-pong balls? Can you win it in a minute? These are some of the questions we will just have to test to find out! In this class we will apply the scientific method to popular experiments and investigative questions. Each week we will explore a different myth, theme or investigative question with accompanying experiment. All classes are project-based, hands on, and student-centered with opportunities for students to explore, theorize, and apply the principles using the scientific method. We believe in offering  science classes for elementary students that are academically challenging, entirely thought provoking, unique, and fun!
