Dear Charlemagne Families,
I hope you are enjoying the cold, wintery weather. Next week is a short week for students. There is no school on Monday because of the Martin Luther King Holiday and Friday is a no school grading day.
We held our Math Madness Kick Off assembly and students brought home their Math Madness packets last Friday. Please help your child collect pledges for this important fundraiser.
Instructions are in your child’s packet. Our goal is to raise $10,000.00 to help pay staffing costs for next year.
Empathy Celebration – Thursday, 5:30 – 7:30 Charlemagne Cafeteria
Espirit De Corps is sponsoring a potato bar pot luck dinner with a live telling of the story “The Potato Man” and several original “Empathy” skits featuring Charlemagne students. Students have been discussing the importance of empathy in their classes and the “Empathy Celebration” promises to be a fun way to come together to celebrate our commitment to Empathy as one of our five Community Living attributes. Families are encouraged to bring a topping for the potato bar or you can just show up for a fun evening of story telling, skits and great food.
Friday No School – Grading Day
Teachers will spend Friday working on report cards. Report cards will go home with students on Friday Feb. 8th. We are in the process of administering the winter benchmark tests in Reading and Math. Issuing Report cards on Feb. 8 will allow teachers to include Reading and Math winter benchmark results in report cards.
School Choice Showcase – Sat. 9:30 – 11:00 Chavez Elementary School
Schools from Eugene School District will participate in Eugene School District’s second annual “School Choice Showcase.” We are looking forward to showcasing Charlemagne with families from throughout Lane County.
Attached you will find dates and times for this weeks activities and the “Year at a Glance” calendar of events: La Semaine à Charlemagne Jan 21-26
I’m looking forward to seeing many of you on Thursday evening!
