After School Clubs, Classes and Activities: 2019-2020

4-H:

Check out the 4-H Open House. This event will be a time for kids to come and play some games; families to meet current 4-H members, leaders, and staff members; and for parents to receive enrollment information. This Open House is a part of Sunday Streets in Eugene on September 22nd, from noon to 4:00 pm. In addition to 4-H having our Open House, all Extension Services will be out in our office garden with fun activities and information on other programs offered through OSU Extension in Lane County. Our program welcomes youth 5-19 years old, but most opportunities start for youth in 4th grade.

French Tutoring

My name is Alexia Murphy. I am a French Native speaker (from Belgium) and volunteered at Charlemagne last year as a Teacher’s Aide.

Chess Club:

CHESS CLUB BEGINS SEPTEMBER 20TH IN THE GYM!! We begin our 15th season! Charlemagne Chess has a long and successful history as one of the most respected programs in the Northwest. The club time is divided about equally between playing games and instruction. The kids can have fun, and they can get the tools they need to become good players. We welcome new beginners. We want to continue that tradition of excellent chess play. Fridays, after school, in the gym.

For the 2019/2020 school year, Treetop Academics will oer after-school classes to 1st-5th grade Charlemagne students in Science.

We are dedicated to providing meaningful, hands on, project-based, and student-centered educational opportunities through best teaching practices and age appropriate curriculum to your elementary school students.

Treetop Academics provides academically enriching opportunities that put students at the center of learning. While providing the tools for learning, our programs are designed to inspire kids to explore & create, use their faculties to the best of their individual ability, and test their theories about their own learning through practice, exploration, and support. In all our programs, your child will be engaged in daily project-based curriculum and activities with a focus on learning and having fun while doing it! Classes are open to all 1st-5th grade students and we encourage all learners to join our classes, whether a program is beginning subject matter for your student, or continuing. Academic Achievement Center (AAC):

This unique program picks up children after school and brings them back to our center (until 5:30) for supervised homework time and enrichment activities involving coding, LEGO challenges, art, engineering, math, and science. Young Rembrandts:

Charlemagne | Elementary Drawing | Ages: 5 – 13

Elementary-age curriculum is designed to teach basic to advanced drawing skills, art techniques and vocabulary. We believe that drawing is the bedrock skill required for future artistic success. We give them skills to express their creativity and believe that all children can – and should – learn to draw. You’ll see increased art abilities, learning skills, self-confidence, and self-esteem. Multicultural Children’s Art Museum & Education Center

The Little Owl School of Arts invites artists ages 4 to 12 to join its weekly classes! We teach drawing, painting, and applied arts as well as composition and art history. Curriculum is adjusted to fit student’s skill level and interests. Small groups of 3 to 5 children. Art exhibits throughout the year showcase students’ work to the wider community.
