From your PTO Co-Chairs

Bonjour Families,

Congratulations to all of our OBOB teams! Special thanks go out to Natalie Reeves and Mme Ariel King for coordinating this amazing event, and to all the many volunteers who helped to run the battles. Congratulations and good luck to our winning team, The Rambunctious Reading Rios (Leo Reeves, Rio Heitman-Moore, Griffin Baxley, and Rory Avey), who will move on to the regional battles on March 12.

Another round of congratulations go out to our Charlemagne chess teamwho finished in first place at Saturday’s regional chess competition. Top finishers advancing the team to a win and moving on to the Chess for Success State team final in Portland on April 8 are: Leo Reeves, Naren Mahadevan, Noah Menachemson, and Jalen Wang. Leo placed 1st in his division, 5th grade, and advances to the Chess for Success state individual tournament on April 9. Great job to all of the players who participated!

Math Madness wraps up this week. This is the week to return the completed and corrected packets together with any collected donations. Remember, even if it’s not possible for a student to collect pledges, they just need to return the math packet and envelope in order to participate. The classes with 100% participation will earn a pizza party. This is a very important fundraiser for our school, so thanks to everyone who participates.

Please don’t forget that the deadline is quickly approaching for the 4j school choice lottery. If you have a younger child that will be entering kindergarten in the fall and you already have children at Charlemagne you still need to fill out a lottery form and have turned into the district by Feb. 29.

Have a wonderful week,

Shannon Tom and Gina Thompson,

Free Family Movie Night at Charlemagne, March 4

The Esprit de Corps committee would like to thank the Charlemagne community for their generous support of the various drives we have had the last few months. In return, we would like to host a family movie night at the school on Friday, March 4 at 6:15 pm.

Admission and popcorn are free. Feel free to bring blankets, pillows, and snacks and meet up for a casual night out. Childcare will not be provided; parents will need to stay and supervise their own children. The movie is yet to be decided. Stay tuned for more details!
