Principal’s Corner
Dear Charlemagne Families and Friends,
On behalf of the staff, THANK YOU for a wonderful teacher appreciation week. Our teachers truly felt the support and are so appreciative they work at Charlemagne with you and your students.
My usual “drop in” schedule for parents from 8-9 a.m. and 2-3 p.m. will not be in effect next week. I am wrapping up teacher evaluations and will be dedicating the time to finishing classroom visits and paperwork.
If you are curious about the teacher evaluation process, please stop by my office to chat.
There are only 21 days of school left and so much to do!

No garden plot at home? Lots of empty raised garden beds at Charlemagne are composted and ready to plant. Just put in a marker and whatever you’d like to grow. We’ll help you water. Take some fresh herbs with you on your way out!
Thanks for showing our teachers the love
A huge thank you to all the volunteers, parents and students who made this year’s Teacher Appreciation a great success.
Our wonderful teachers were honored with breakfast on Monday, fabulous bouquets from the beautiful flowers that the kids brought to school on Tuesday, wine and chocolates on Wednesday and a delicious lunch on Thursday that was provided by our parents who volunteered decorations, food, setup and clean up. We topped off the week with gift certificates and note cards from the students.
Our teachers really felt appreciated and Esprit de Corp thanks everyone for all their support, we could not do it without you!

Charlemagne Talent Show, May 27
Calling all singers, dancers, jugglers, actors, gymnasts, comedians, magicians, musicians, martial artists, pogo stick dancers, puppeteers, finger shadow artists, and performers of all types!
The annual Charlemagne Community Talent Show is on Wednesday, May 27, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the gym.
This is the perfect opportunity for students to share their talents with the rest of the Charlemagne community and to perform a fun group act with their friends. Sign up sheets are available in the office and due by May 15. Dress rehearsals are on Wednesday, May 20 after school or during recess/lunch on Thursday, May 21. Performers must attend one rehearsal to be guaranteed a place in the show.
The show is being revived from two years ago, so we need parent volunteers to make this happen. Please sign up at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0F4FA8A62CABF85-the2015/.
Feel free to contact Julie Kim at safra76@hotmail.com with any questions or suggestions.
Trot de France needs your help on May 29
Charlemagne’s first ever Trot de France (formerly known as the Jog-a-thon) is happening on Friday, May 29 and we need your help!
We are looking for 2 volunteers from each class to punch holes in runners’ cards during the event, 10 people for set up and 15 to stay and clean up afterwards.
Please email Mindy Steury and let her know which shift you’re available for mindyanne14@gmail.com
