PTO Meeting Tonight at 6:30

Dear Families,
Our PTO meeting is 6:30 this Tuesday evening in the library.  The agenda includes information about Mardi Gras, Canoe Island, and CBOB and a Site Council update on spending proposals. Please join us!  All are welcome and childcare is provided in the cafeteria.
Mardi Gras at Charlemagne is 5:30pm to 8pm Friday, February 28th! The excitement is building!  Please read the Mardi Gras Newsletter attached here!   Also, please consider helping out with the fun!  Such as baking a cake for the cake walk.  There are sign up sheets in the office.  And be ready for a fun filled evening of carnival games, great food, raffle baskets, photo booth, and new LED blinky party wear available at the Mardi Gras store!
Read! Read! Read!  CBOB is going strong!  Please see Jennifer Frei’s update below.

CBOB SURVEY RESULTS

Charlemagne Parents and Families,
Thank you to the 44 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade families who responded to the CBOB survey! Eighty-five percent (85%) of families agree to go to Lebanon for the cross-school battles, and 77.78% of families believe Charlemagne should send our top four (4) teams. Read the full survey here.
I also appreciate all the parents who indicated they could volunteer to support CBOB. Dates to keep in mind:
  • I’m coordinating lunch time discussions with teams the week of 2/24 – 2/28.
  • Our Preliminary and Great Eight Charlemagne battles will be held the week of March 11 – 13
  • Our top four teams will battle with Lebanon, Marcola, and Philomath on March 17.
  • The final Charlemagne battle among our top four teams, to determine the Charlemagne BOB Champion, will be held in the gym at 12:30pm on Thursday, 3/20. The battle schedule is posted on the OBOB section of the school website. The team list and battle rules are also posted on the website, along with documents and study aids.
Continue reading and enjoying the various stories! Please encourage and support your student(s) to read the books and actively discuss them with their team. It’s so fun to hear groups of students enthusiastically discussing the characters and story lines from their books!
Thank you to those parents who have contacted me to volunteer for CBOB. If you are interested, please let me know.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.  Jennifer Frei – jrfrei@pacbell.net
