Bonjour, Charlemagne Families!
Les Nouvelles de Fox Hollow (Updates from Fox Hollow)!
M. Chappell’s late start: Robin Chappell won’t be meeting students the first week of school. He’ll be joining his brother in Italy to launch a special retrospective of his late father’s photography at a museum in Milan. He regrets the unavoidable timing of these days and is grateful his class will be in the capable hands of Mme Kim Pash-Bell. Since Robin is teaching half-time this year, Mme Kim will be joining him all year in a job-share. She has a reading endorsement so will bring her expertise to both 2 classes. Kim taught last year at Kelly Middle School and the Village school teaching Reading and Math. Kim has two children 4 and 9 years old. She loves the outdoors including rafting, surfing, and snowboarding and was lucky enough this summer to row her own raft the length of Grand Canyon. She’ll be in Room 4 in the morning.
Travis Van Horn joins Mme Elise in our kindergarten. His French is excellent, but what’s the deal with his Scottish accent? You may recognize M. Travis from Starbucks, but he didn’t wear his kilt to work.
Allie Franz is teaching PE 1st semester. She is passionate about all things healthy and providing our students with a new outlook on PE. Mme Allie is pumped to be joining us at Fox Hollow!
You have questions and we have answers, so here’s the September Q and A:
Q: Which 5th grade classroom does my student report to?
A: Homeroom assignments will be posted on Monday, September 8, & students should greet both teachers at open house. Mme Jana and Mme Diedrich will teach each cohort 50
percent of their day. Students will start with their homeroom teacher on Tuesday.
Q: How about the 4th graders?
A.: The RED class has Mme Shelli for homeroom and the BLUE class will have M. Joseph. Each will teach 50% of the day.
Q: What time is the OPEN HOUSE on Monday, September 9?
A: Teachers will greet students in classrooms from 2:00-3:00.
Our PTO will serve watermelon afterwards on the playground.
Q: What about our supply fees?
A: PTO Volunteers will be happy to receive your checks out front in the breezeway when you arrive at the Open House.
