Dear Charlemagne Families
New Principal Selection
This Tuesday, Sara Cramer, Director of Elementary Education, and Karen Harden, Human Resources administrator will meet with the Charlemagne staff to develop a “Profile” of qualities and characteriistics they would like to see in Charlemagne’s next principal. We are tentativley scheduled to interview candidates during the week of May 20 – 24. The interview team will consist of 3 teachers, 2 classified staff, 2 parents (PTO rep. and Site Council rep.) Sara Cramer and Director of Human Resources, Celia Feres- Johnson. The interview team will recommend their top choices for a second interview with Superintendent Berman and other district staff. The Eugene School Board will make the final decision. I am optimistic that your next principal will reflect Charlemagne’s long held traditions,values and beliefs and will help us to become stronger and more dynamic every year.
I am pleased to announce that Christelle Munnelly will move from 1st grade to 3rd grade next year. Christelle and Michele will make a great team at 3rd grade! Christelle will teach English Language Arts to both 3rd grade classes and Michele will continue to teach Math & Science to both 3rd grade classes. Christelle and Michele are in the process of designing the French Language Arts, Social Studies, Science and P.E. portions of the curriculum. We are looking forward to a strong emphasis on French language throughout the day in both classrooms. We are also looking forward to hiring a new 1st grade teacher and a new 4th or 5th grade teacher for next year. Both positions will be posted this week with interviews happening May 27 – June 7.
Jog a Thon Pledges Due May 21 – 23
The weather was perfect and we had amazing parent support for last Friday’s Jog a Thon. Now it is time for students to collect their pledges then hold on to them until Tuesday, May 21st. Hildy and her team of parent volunteers will be in the breezeway collecting pledges on Tuesday, May 21 – Thursday, May 23rd. Students who turn in all of their pledges will be eligible for daily prize drawings and for the i-pad mini and Snori poster grand prize drawings.
Hershey’s Track Meet for 4th/ 5th Grades Thursday, May 16
This Thursday all 4th and 5th graders will hop on a bus and travel to Sheldon High School for the 4th/5th grade Hershey’s Track Meet. Students are encouraged to participate and/or cheer for their classmates. 4th grade 9:30 – 11:30, 5th grade 11:30 – 1:30.
Talent Show May 29th 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Thanks to Charlie Jet, we are cued up and ready for another fun filled Talent Show on May 29th 6:00 – 8:00. Talent Show sign ups are due Monday, May 13 with auditions/reahersals happening after school on May 23 and May 24th. For more info. you can contact Charlie at: email@example.com
The Great Library Book Return is on!!
Please scour the house and encourage your child to return all checked out library books. the firt two classes who get all of their library books returned/replaced will earn an ice cream sundae party catered by Madame Quena and Mr. Maloney.
