Dear Charlemagne Families

A quick reminder that there is no school on Friday Apr. 13th. It is a half day for teacher planning and half the day is a non paid furlough.

French Quarter Cheering Section – Eugene Marathon April 29, 8:30 – 11:30
Come one come all! Please reserve the morning of Sunday Apr. 29th to join other Charlemagne families in cheering Eugene Marathon runners in the French Quarter Cheering section. Families are invited to come for part or all of the morning. Tom will give specific information on location and parking next week. The French Quarter will be located at the 21 mile point on the Owosso Bridge which happens to be the most challenging portion of the marathon course. Our goal is to have 100 – 150 screaming French Immersion students from Charlemagne, Roosevelt and SEHS between 8:30 – 11:30. Runners will vote for their favorite cheering section with the winner receiving a $300.00 cash prize!! Tom is also looking for a parent volunteer to make a balloon arch to mark the entrance of the French Quarter.

Our Beautiful Garden
Thanks to Erika, Tabatha and teachers in grades K- 5, we have a stunning border of daffodils around the garden and we are ready to plant our spring crops. We also have 12 new apple trees on the east border of the lower field. For more garden info go to:

Community Living Plan 12 – 13
On April 2, the Charlemagne staff approved the first draft of an exciting and ambitious plan to help strengthen our sense of community and to help every child develop key interpersonal and learning attributes designed to set the foundation for global citizenship and life long learning. I will present this exciting program to interested parents at our Apr. 17th PTO meeting.
