Dear Charlemagne Families

Happy New Year! The Charlemagne Staff is looking forward to kicking off 2012 with an exciting and fun filled week. Here is how our first week looks:

Monday, Jan. 2  No School – New Years Day Observed
Tuesday, Jan. 3 No School – Teachers Report for Professional Development, Planning and 2 hr. non paid Furlough The entire Charlemagne Staff will spend the morning reviewing our current French Language Arts program K-5. Understanding what we currently teach at each grade level is the first step in creating a smooth, articulated
French Language experience that combines direct French language instruction in reading, writing and speaking with French immersion opportunities in content areas classes and in common school areas. In addition to the 3 hr. French Professional Development activitiy, teachers will plan for 2 hrs, then leave school 2 hrs. early due to a non-paid 2 hr budget reduction furlough.

Wednesday, Jan. 4 Students return!!!
We welcome students back, review classroom and common school area expectations and set academic goals for the remainder of the year.
January through June is where students really hit their stride academically. It is amazing to see the progress students make between now and the end of the school year.

Thursday, Jan. 5 Tuesday/Thursday Kinders return!
