Merci beaucoup to all the volunteers who helped with Friday’s festivities!

Special thanks to Linda Fossum and Christine Sampley for coordinating the Johnson Brothers’ sale. They would also like to thank Hildy Tritch, Janine Bryant, Megan McAlpin, Lisa Ghandour, Camille Leider, Tim Fossum, a few 6th grade Charlemagne alumni, and everyone who bought and/or sold for this successful fundraiser. Many thanks to Stephanie Hand and Cindy Matherly for heading up the first annual Charlemagne holiday fair. Everyone had a great time, it was a successful, community building day for Charlemagne! We can’t wait for next year.

Our Online Parent Volunteer Checklist sign-up still needs you!  We have a total of only 34 parents who have signed up so far. Please complete the sign-up as soon as possible, ideally by the end of this week.

With many thanks to Sabrina Parsons, our tech volunteer, we have upgraded our volunteer sign-up process this year to an online form.  Please look over the printed version of the form (double-sided) that was sent home with your child last week and consider how you’d like to give of your time.  Filled out volunteer checklists in past years?  Please do it again for this year.

Also, if you’ve never filled out a background check, please see Heather or download one from the school website. If you haven’t already filled out the checklist online via the Charlemagne Website or this Charlemagne eNews link, please click HERE. It’s easy! And, this will save many volunteer hours inputting your information by hand into our database.  Also, nothing shows your kids how important school really is than by you helping out!  Spring Creek Holly Farm Holiday Tree Fundraiser
50% Give-Back-to-Schools program

Buy a holiday tree from Spring Creek Holly Farm between November 25 and December 23 and Spring Creek Holly Farm will donate 50% of the retail price to Charlemagne.  There are no limits, the purchaser does not need to attend or have an affiliation with the school but they need to tell the Farm to which school to donate the money.  That means that friends, relatives and companies etc. can buy trees to support our school.  For example an 8′ tree would cost (8 x $4) $32 so $16 would be donated to  Charlemagne!All trees are $4/ft.  They have “You Choose” trees as well as pre-cut trees, mostly Noble Firs.  The sizes range from table top to 9-10′.They also sell hand-made garlands, wreaths, table decorations and greens to decorate your home.Encourage your family and friends to head out to the farm for some cider and create a new holiday tradition!Please visit They are hoping to add a few pictures of Charlemagne families to their Facebook page as trees are purchased.  For flyer Click Here. Winter Warmth Drive – Nov 28th through Dec 9th
The Charlemagne Community is collecting warm coats, blankets, etc. for families in need. The clothing will be donated to families who receive services at Pearl Buck Center. Find collection bags in the office and quads.

In case you missed ordering a beautiful wreath or or poinsettia, we have a few extra left over that are available for purchase.

Online Holiday Shopping pays big dividends for Escrip participants!
Did you know that you can earn money for Fox Hollow while doing your online shopping? Online vendors typically donate 2 – 10% of shopping purchases to Fox Hollow when eScrip participants go through the eScrip website for their online shopping. Since it can be hard to remember to go through eScrip’s website, they’ve developed a widget called AutoEarn, that you can download to your PC or Mac (yep, you heard that right, it’s now available for Macs too!) Once installed, the widget notifies you when you’re shopping at an online vendor who gives money back to Fox Hollow. If you haven’t yet registered as an eScrip participant, go to and sign up. Once you’ve done that, you can download the AutoEarn widget here.

Remember your family must renew by November 1 in order to continue uninterrupted contributions. While you can renew after November 1—contributions will stop until renewed- and with all the potential holiday shopping and winter travel the school could be earning money while you are away! After-School Art Club – Jan 17th – Apr 17th

Parents – Art Club sign up is now!  Art Club is open to K-5, for the Kinders we do ask that a parent attend with them for each session to provide extra assistance. Please pick up your Art Club application in the office.  Be sure you get it filled out and turned in by December 9th.  (Lottery to be completed 12/10 – 12/11.)  Art Club will be meeting on Tuesdays after school.  The cost is $15.00.
